The source’s geographic scope matters as much as its title. This initial library identifies where each resource applies and what it helps a reader ask. It does not provide a worldwide directory or a complete account of local regulation.
United States public guidance
- SAMHSA quality-treatment checklist: questions about credentials, methods, chosen family participation and support for life needs.
- NIMH help for mental illnesses: ways to seek professional help in the US and questions for prospective providers, including experience, approach, duration and cost.
- SAMHSA recovery and recovery support: information on recovery, peer support and related resources.
- HHS mental and behavioral health information sharing: US privacy guidance for care-related sharing, family involvement and personal representatives.
US contact numbers, privacy rules and access routes in those sources should retain their US label. Ask the actual receiving service about the local arrangement when care takes place elsewhere.
Global public-health reference
WHO’s Alcohol fact sheet, dated June 28, 2024, provides global public-health context about alcohol, health and policy responses. It is not a current provider registry or a source of individual treatment advice. Its statistical periods should remain attached to any numbers used; this publication does not republish those figures.
Original tool: A local-source verification card
Use one card for each location-specific question.
- Location and question:
- Relevant public authority:
- Official source URL and date checked:
- What the source actually confirms:
- Which provider or office the confirmation concerns:
- What remains unanswered:
- Person responsible for the next verification step:
Add country-specific pages only after this source record is complete. The publication will keep source gaps visible rather than fill them with general claims about another care system.
A companion concept reference
Behavioral Health Wiki’s dictionary provides a companion reference for commonly used care terms. Country-specific availability, credentials and access rules still belong in the geographic source record above.
